The fusion of the modern and the traditional runs through the whole scheme of this special garden. The striking architectural presence of the conical hornbeams works well in combination with the soft mix of perennials and grasses. The elegant water feature, set in the paving and accompanied by a small Cercis, was used to bring an air of tranquillity and a sculptural presence to this area of the garden. Clipped, yew hedges enclose the main entertaining and seating area. Together with the lush foliage planting, elegant Belgian clay pavers and natural materials this creates a very secluded, atmospheric place to escape to.
